Frequently asked questions

What is Quiet Sit?

Quiet Sit is a mobile app that helps parents run a calmer sit-time routine with their child. You set a length, hand the phone over, and the app shows a quiet, drifting scene while your child sits. There are no scores, no goals, and no rewards. The routine is designed to reduce daily pressure rather than add to it.

Who is Quiet Sit designed for?

Parents of children working through toilet routines, including families managing encopresis, families rebuilding a routine, and families whose child needs the day to feel a little less rushed. The app is for parents; the child never has to interact with anything beyond the calm scene.

Is Quiet Sit a medical device?

No. Quiet Sit is a routine and reflection tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition. If you have concerns about your child’s toilet habits or digestive health, consult a qualified healthcare provider.

How much does it cost?

The app is free to download and free to use for the basic routine. Quiet Sit Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks the full library of calm activities, longer sit times, and access to sit history across time. Pro has a 7-day free trial.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through Apple or Google. On iPhone: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions.

Does the app collect data about my child?

No. Quiet Sit does not collect your child’s name, age, or any identifying information. The account belongs to the parent. The sit log records anonymous outcomes only (Done, Tried, Skipped) with timestamps.

Can I use it without creating an account?

Yes. The full sit-time routine works without an account and stores data only on your device. An account is needed if you want your sit history to persist across devices, or if you want to subscribe to Quiet Sit Pro.

Why don’t the calm activities have goals or scores?

By design. The goal is to give your child something restful to look at, not something to master. Scores and goals introduce pressure and expectation, the opposite of what a sit-time routine needs to feel like.

Does the app work on tablets?

Yes, the app runs on iPad and Android tablets.

What if we skip a day?

Skipping is fine. The app doesn’t track streaks, doesn’t send guilt-trip notifications, and doesn’t highlight missed days. Consistency helps, but the app is designed to make coming back tomorrow easy, not to punish yesterday.
