We wrote this policy to be readable. It reflects what the app and this website actually do. If anything here changes materially, we’ll update this page and note the date at the top.

The short version: there is no third-party tracker in the app, there is no third-party tracker on this website, and there are no cookies anywhere. Nothing you type is ever sent to us unless you choose to create an account or write to us.

What we collect

If you don’t create an account: your sit history, settings, and notes stay in local storage on your phone. None of that content is sent to us.

The app does send a small, anonymous count of activity so we can tell how many people are using Quiet Sit and whether it’s working for them. That is a randomly generated install number the app makes up for itself, your device type, the app version, your timezone, and a tally of how many sits happened on each calendar day and whether each one was marked Done, Tried, or Skipped. The install number isn’t derived from anything about you or your phone, and reinstalling the app creates a new one. It is never connected to an advertising identifier or shared with anyone.

What those counts never include: anything you typed, your notes, your routine, the names of activities you chose, your child, or your email. We can see that a sit happened. We can’t see anything about it beyond the outcome, and we have no way to work out who you are. If you later create an account, we link that install number to it so we can tell how many people who try the app go on to sign up.

If you create an account: we collect and store the following:

Your email address: used only to sign you in, verify your account, and send password-reset emails
Your sit log: a record of each sit’s start time, duration, outcome (Done / Tried / Skipped), and which calm activity was on screen
Your subscription state: whether you have an active Quiet Sit Pro subscription, from Apple or Google
Your optional weekly note: if you write one; text is stored under your account

We do NOT collect: your child’s name, age, or any identifying information about your child. Location data. Contacts. Photos. Microphone or camera access. Health data outside of what’s in the sit log. Advertising identifiers.

Where your data lives

Data associated with your account is stored on Amazon Web Services servers in the US West (Oregon) region. We use AWS DynamoDB for storage and AWS Cognito for authentication. Both are encrypted at rest and in transit.

Third parties

We use the following third-party services, each for a specific purpose:

Apple and Google Play: process subscription payments and receipts
RevenueCat: validates subscription state across iOS and Android
Amazon Web Services: hosts our infrastructure
Resend: delivers the emails we send you, such as a reply to a support message

That is the whole list. We removed Google Analytics from this website in August 2026 and replaced it with our own measurement, described below, so no analytics or advertising company receives anything about you from either the app or this site.

We do not sell or share your data with any other third parties for advertising or any other purpose.

Analytics inside the app

The mobile app does not embed any third-party analytics SDK. There is no Google Analytics, no Firebase, no Amplitude, and no advertising or tracking library inside the app. Nothing about your usage is sent to a company other than us.

The usage counts described above go to our own servers and stay there. We use them to answer questions like “are people still sitting after a month” and “do people who install the app ever get to their first sit” — so we know what to fix and build next. We also collect CloudWatch logs of API errors, but those don’t include the content of your sits, only technical error metadata.

If you write to us through the app or the contact form on this site, we keep your message so we can reply and so it doesn’t get lost. Those messages are deleted automatically after twelve months.

Analytics on this website

This site (quietsit.com) measures its own traffic. There is no Google Analytics and no third-party tracker of any kind, which matters here because the pages people read on this site — about constipation, soiling, bedwetting, toilet refusal — are themselves sensitive. That information should not go to an advertising company, so it doesn’t go to one.

For each page view we record the page address, the site that linked you here if any, campaign tags in the link if it had them, roughly how long the page was on screen, how far down it was scrolled, and whether an App Store link or the contact form was used. That is aggregated into daily totals so we can see which articles are useful and which are ignored.

We do not store your IP address, we do not derive your location from it, and we do not keep your browser’s user-agent string. To count how many separate people visited without identifying anyone, our server combines your IP address and browser with a secret that changes every day, turns the result into an irreversible code, and discards the IP address and browser immediately. The code cannot be turned back into your details, and because the secret changes at midnight, the code we compute for you tomorrow is unrelated to today’s. That means we genuinely cannot follow one person around this site over time — not even we can — and those codes are deleted entirely after 45 days.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies. It also stores nothing in your browser’s local storage, and it doesn’t use any other durable identifier. That is why you have never been shown a cookie consent banner here and why there is nothing for you to opt out of. The app doesn’t use cookies either.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

Access your data: export your sit history as a CSV via the app’s Export feature
Delete your account: Settings → Account → Delete account. This immediately removes your account, sit log, and subscription record from our servers. It cannot be undone. Instructions also on our account deletion page.

If you are subject to GDPR, CCPA, or a similar regulation, the account deletion above covers your right to erasure, and the CSV export covers your right to data portability.

Children

Quiet Sit is designed to be used by parents on behalf of their children. The account holder must be a parent, guardian, or other adult caregiver. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy materially changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. For subscribed users, we’ll also email a notice if the change affects how we handle your data.
